PSA: A customer in Phoenix brought in a car with a quarter panel repair that looked perfect until we saw the weld-through primer was applied after the panel was fitted.

Now I always check the tech sheet for primer steps before any metal goes on, but has anyone else run into this and how do you handle the rework without damaging the new panel?

Ugh, that's the worst. Had a truck come in last year with the exact same thing. Ended up having to carefully scrape it off with a plastic razor, total pain.

Oh man, heat gun on a sticker sounds like a recipe for disaster. Next time just pour some syrup on it, really seal the deal.

Yeah plastic razors are a lifesaver for that. I tried using a heat gun once on an old sticker and just made a sticky, melted mess. Took me twice as long to clean up. What do you use to get the leftover glue off after scraping?
