The $3 dryer sheet trick that finally killed my fisheye problem
I kept getting fisheye in my clear coat on a Civic bumper last Tuesday, even after wiping it down with prep spray twice. A guy named Dale who runs a shop over in Sparks told me to stop chasing it with more solvent and try something dumb instead. He said to run a dryer sheet over the panel right before I sprayed, just a light pass, because the static was pulling lint and dust into the wet clear. I laughed at him but tried it on the next bumper and got zero craters, first try. Did three more panels after that with the same result, and I only spent $3 on a box of sheets. Now I want to know if this holds up on bare metal or if it is just a plastic panel thing, so if you have tried it on a hood or a door let me know what happened.
