Visited an old body shop out in Lancaster last weekend and it still had a gas torch and lead spoon on the bench

Made me think about how we used to smooth out quarter panels with lead instead of all that polyester filler, and I wonder how many guys still even know how to use a torch and paddle these days, anyone else miss that old way of working?

Yeah lead's great until you accidentally breathe in the fumes.

@lopez.brooke you're not wrong at all... that stuff is no joke. A buddy of mine worked in a welding shop for years and he still talks about how careful they had to be with the ventilation. One slip up and you're dealing with something that can mess you up for life. I've always figured it's better to just stay clear of the stuff entirely if you can. No reason to take that kind of risk when there's safer options around. Glad you brought it up because too many people don't think twice about it.
