Pro tip: gave up my pellet grill for a stick burner this summer
Honestly, I was always one of those pellet grill guys who swore you could get real smoke flavor from those things. Tbh, it took one taste of a brisket my buddy cooked on his old offset smoker in his backyard in Austin to flip me. That deep, clean smoke ring and bark just hit different, no comparison. Anyone else make the switch and feel like they wasted money on pellets first?

Read somewhere that the extra oxygen flow in a stick burner is what really builds that bark. Pellets just can't replicate that.

Threw some post oak splits in my offset and never looked back. Started getting that deep red smoke ring and crunchy bark on the second cook, way better than anything I got out of the pellet grill.
