I used to think dried beans were a waste of time compared to canned

My daughter convinced me to try cooking a batch of pinto beans from scratch last weekend, and after seeing how much better they tasted and that a $2 bag made enough for three meals, I'm a total convert now. Has anyone found a good trick for remembering to soak them the night before?

Oh man, totally same here, my wife got me to try dry beans and I'll never go back to canned.

Man, my first batch of dry chickpeas took forever to cook but the texture was just unreal compared to canned, @johnthompson. I used to think it was way too much effort but now I just soak a big bag on Sunday and use them all week. Seriously, once you get the timing down there's no going back, right?
