Just realized canned tomatoes save me $8 a week compared to fresh

I switched to canned whole tomatoes for my chili and pasta sauces back in January, and my grocery bill dropped about $8 each week. Has anyone else noticed how much cheaper canned stuff works for cooked meals?

Oh man, that is SUCH a good way to put it. I think there's a special kind of pride in fixing something up yourself. Like I bought an old wooden rocking chair at a garage sale for five bucks once, just needed some glue and a little sanding. Turned out to be solid oak underneath all that paint. It's not just the money you save, it's the feeling that you sort of earned it. Your dad knew what he was talking about for sure.
