Just realized I was wasting a ton of money on fresh herbs for every recipe until I started growing a small basil plant on my kitchen windowsill 4 months ago.
I used to buy those expensive plastic clamshells of fresh herbs that would wilt in 3 days, but now I just snip a few leaves from my $3 plant whenever a soup or pasta needs it, and it's saved me at least $60 already. Anyone else have a cheap, low-effort ingredient they grow at home?

That's still a lot of work for herbs.

My rosemary bush has lived through three winters, so maybe @linda658 and I have different ideas about work.
