My view on dried beans shifted with a borrowed slow cooker.

I always avoided dried beans thinking they took too long to prepare. Borrowing a slow cooker from a friend showed me how cheap and earth-friendly they can be. What ways do you cook that save money and help the planet?

Absolutely! I had the same slow cooker lightbulb moment a few years back. I make a huge batch of chickpeas or black beans from dry every Sunday now. It costs pennies, and I use the broth in soups too. My plastic waste from cans went way down, which feels good.

Disagree with you @jana_bennett62, I found dry beans too much work. Cans are just easier for my schedule.
