Took me 3 hours to realize my rice cooker was unplugged
Last Tuesday I prepped a huge batch of beans and rice for the week, set the cooker, and walked away. Checked it an hour later, still cold and hard, so I panicked and added more water, then another hour, nothing. Finally after 3 hours I looked at the outlet and the cord was dangling, my cat had knocked it out. Has anyone else lost a whole afternoon to an appliance that was never on in the first place?

Did the exact same thing with my slow cooker a few months back. Spent an entire Sunday convinced it was broken, even went and bought a new one, and only then realized the old one just needed to be plugged in. My cat is lucky she's cute, because that was a whole day of meal prep gone to waste. At least the new one works, I guess.

Wait, you're telling me that's actually a thing people do?
