I stopped tracking my mood after 90 days and my journal got better
Everyone says a mood tracker is a must-have, but I found myself just filling in colors without thinking, so I swapped it for a simple 'one good thing' note each day. Now I actually look forward to writing in my Leuchtturm1917, and it feels more real. Has anyone else dropped a popular spread and been happier for it?

My mood tracker just became a sad rainbow I had to color in every day...

Why call it a sad rainbow? Mine looks like that most weeks. The dark blue for a bad Tuesday, the grey for feeling tired, that little stripe of yellow for a good coffee. It's not sad, it's just honest. Seeing the whole mix helps more than a page of fake sunshine.

What if we're just calling it the wrong thing? I read this article about how we label feelings, and calling a mixed week "sad" makes the whole thing feel like a failure. But like you said, it's just honest. It's a real rainbow. That's what @robinson.quinn is actually making, a real record of a real week, not some made up happy chart. Maybe we need better names for it that don't make the hard days feel so heavy.
