I switched from a Leuchtturm1917 to a Moleskine expanded and regret it

I was using a Leuchtturm for 2 years straight and decided to try a Moleskine expanded for my new journal in March. The paper is so much thinner, I can't use my Tombow brush pens without bleeding through to the next page. Has anyone else had this issue switching notebooks?

I had the exact same problem when I tried Moleskine about 5 years ago. The paper is around 70 gsm while the Leuchtturm is 80 gsm, and that small difference really shows with any wet ink. I found that even the Pilot G2 .07 would ghost through on the Moleskine, and forget about fountain pens or brush markers. If you still want a thinner notebook with similar sizing, you might look at the Rhodia webnotebook since it has 90 gsm paper and holds up much better to wet media.

Makes you realize how often we settle for "good enough" when the right tool makes all the difference.

So what specific notebook did you settle on after trying the Leuchtturm, or are you still looking?
