Just counted 27 different colored pens in my bullet journal drawer and it's a problem
I was cleaning my desk this weekend and decided to pull out my pen storage for my bullet journal. I started counting them out of curiosity, and I hit 27. Twenty seven! I have three full sets of mildliners, a handful of fineliners, and a bunch of random singles. The crazy part is I only really use about five of them in my weekly spreads. The rest just sit there. I think I got caught up in watching setup videos where people have every color, and I kept buying more thinking I needed them to be organized or creative. Now I have this drawer full of pens I don't use, and it actually makes starting my journal feel messy and hard. Has anyone else ended up with way too many supplies and found a good way to cut back without feeling like you're missing out?

Only five of them" is the real problem, I have a drawer full of pens I've used exactly once.

The drawer itself is a kind of graveyard for good intentions. We buy the pen for the single perfect task we imagine, but owning it kills the magic. It's not about the pen at all, it's about paying for a future version of ourselves that never shows up.
