My bullet journal choice: a $12 dotted notebook or a $25 planner insert
I needed a new journal for the year. The dotted notebook was blank, total freedom. The insert had pre-printed monthly and weekly spreads. I picked the dotted one, thinking I'd be more creative. After three months, I'm still drawing my own weekly grids and it takes forever. Anyone else regret choosing a totally blank setup?

Wait, you're still drawing the weekly grids by hand every single time? That sounds like a part time job.

There's a real focus that comes from building something by hand each week. It forces you to actually think about every single appointment and commitment instead of just mindlessly clicking. The physical act makes the schedule stick in your brain better than any auto generated template ever could. It's not a prison, it's a system that actually works.
