My favorite pen exploded in my journal last night

I was setting up my March habit tracker when my 0.38 Muji gel pen just gave out and leaked everywhere. Had to carefully blot 3 pages with a paper towel to save the spreads. Anyone have a go-to pen that won't randomly die on you?

Ugh, that's the worst feeling. I've had a few gel pens do that and ruin a whole page. I stick with basic Pilot G2s now, they seem to hold up.

Honestly @shanel13, I wonder if the paper makes a bigger difference than the pen sometimes. Cheap notebook paper seems to make any gel ink blob up and feather. Switching to a smoother sheet fixed it for me without changing pens.
