My sister told me to skip the fancy monthly spreads and just use a daily log for a solid month, and honestly, it fixed everything.

I was spending over 2 hours every Sunday setting up a complex layout in my Leuchtturm1917, but her advice to just rapid-log each day for 30 days finally made the system click and actually get things done, so has anyone else found that simplifying their approach was the real key?

Funny how the fanciest planners seem to need the most work to be useful. That shift from a perfect layout to just writing stuff down is huge. It stops being about decorating a future you imagined and starts dealing with the actual day in front of you. The system only works if you're actually using it, not just setting it up.

My bullet journal has three pages of color coded key symbols I never look at. @iris_adams is totally right, it's a trap. I see this with kitchen gadgets too, where the fancy air fryer just collects dust because washing all the parts is a chore. The simple stuff you actually reach for every time wins. It's like we get sold on the perfect setup instead of the actual doing.

Maybe @iris_adams is overthinking a notebook.
