Ngl, I stopped using future logs because they just clutter up my journal and stress me out.

Have you noticed how a lot of planning tools meant to help us actually end up making things worse? I see this all the time with apps and systems that promise to organize your life but just add more noise. Like, my friend switched to a basic notebook after her digital planner gave her constant alerts and deadlines she didn't need. It's crazy how extra structure can backfire!

Wait, I totally get where @blair_lane is coming from, but my experience is the opposite. My digital calendar saves me because I'd forget every dentist appointment and birthday without it. The key is turning off all the default alerts. I only get one reminder for things that actually matter. A notebook is great, but if I lose it, I'm lost. For me, the tool isn't the problem, it's how you set it up.

Ryder Carroll's bullet journal method uses a Future Log only for major events like trips or big deadlines. The problem happens when you dump every single to-do in there, which creates clutter. Digital planners with constant alerts turn everything into an urgent reminder, even stuff that can wait. A plain notebook works better because you have to think about what's worth writing down. Keeping it simple stops the system from becoming another source of stress.
