Taping a ruler to my desk saved my weekly spreads

I kept messing up my straight lines, so I used washi tape to stick a 6-inch ruler down as a guide. What small tweaks have made your journaling easier?

Emery, I gotta disagree with that. I've had the same ruler taped to my desk for like three months now and it hasn't budged an inch. The key is using washi tape that's sticky enough but not permanent, and pressing it down firm along the whole edge. If you're worried, just check it once a week with a corner of a paper you know is straight. My weekly spreads have never looked cleaner, no more wobbly lines that make me want to tear the page out.

Honestly, that's genius, I should tape down a triangle for perfect right angles too.

But what if the tape gets bumped and you don't notice? You'd be trusting a guide that's secretly off, and that's worse than eyeballing it. Sometimes the simple guess is safer than a bad fixed mark.
