That fancy 120 dollar journaling set I never touched
Back in January I splurged on this leather bound journal kit with like 6 different pens and stencils for 120 bucks at a craft store in Reno. I had this whole vision of perfect weekly spreads, but the pages were too thick for the pens and the stencils just sat in the box. I ended up going back to my plain old spiral notebook and one black pen after about 2 weeks of forcing it. Has anyone else dropped cash on fancy supplies only to realize the simple stuff works better or am I just weird?

That thicker paper thing is actually the opposite of most journals, most of them use thin paper that bleeds through everything. Sounds like you got one of those heavy watercolor style notebooks, which are way better for paint than standard pens. The stencils being useless is just the universe telling you that handwriting your own layouts is the real flex anyway, honestly.
