Tried a minimalist weekly spread and it backfired hard
I switched to a super minimalist weekly layout last month. Just dates and a tiny task box for each day. No collections, no trackers, no color coding. Thought it would save time and reduce clutter. But I ended up forgetting three deadlines and missed a friend's birthday party. The problem was I didn't write down any details or reminders. Turns out my brain needs those extra bits to actually follow through. Anyone else try stripping down their layout and regret it?

I trashed my whole system last year for the same reason. Swapped a detailed Hobonichi for a blank notebook with just dates. Missed a doctor's appointment and a work deadline in the first week. Now I keep a small "notes" section under each day for random reminders and details. Even just a few words helps me remember.

Three lines under each date did it for me. One for appointments times, one for locations, and one for what I need to bring. That little bit of structure saved me from messing up again.
