DAE get their chalk art erased by a 'concerned' neighbor?
I drew a silly quote about questioning everything on my driveway, and the guy next door hosed it off claiming it was 'disturbing the peace'. The IRONY of him silencing free expression while citing community harmony was just too perfect.

That irony about silencing free expression while talking about community harmony really hits home. Isn't it funny how often people use "peace" as an excuse to control others? Your neighbor probably didn't even realize he was proving your point about questioning everything. I've seen similar things where folks get so fixated on surface-level order that they miss the bigger picture of what harmony actually means.

Reading your take @cameronprice, it makes me wonder where the line is between maintaining order and stifling dissent. Have you noticed if people who enforce this 'surface-level order' ever realize the hypocrisy? In my experience, they're often so committed to their version of peace that they can't see the harm. What strategies might actually help communities foster real harmony instead of just compliance? Sometimes the fear of conflict prevents us from addressing the root issues that undermine genuine connection.

It's like watching someone sweep dust under the rug while boasting about a clean house. @cameronprice nailed the irony when he mentioned how 'peace' becomes a tool for control. I've seen community leaders so focused on quiet meetings they ignore the shouting matches happening outside. Real harmony needs messy conversations, not just polished appearances.
