Found my old zine got deleted from a university archive last month

Back in 2019 I wrote a little zine about housing rights in Portland. I had put it in a local university's digital collection. Last month I tried to find it for a friend and it was just gone. No notice, no reason given. I emailed the librarian and they said it didn't meet their 'current content standards.' Has anyone else had old work quietly removed from archives like that?

Is it just me or does this kind of thing happen everywhere now, like with social media algorithms deciding what you can and can't see? Feels like people are just renaming stuff to make it sound like a good thing.

Yeah what worked for me was getting a direct copy of the PDF and hosting it on a personal site, and from what skyler_anderson65 said that's exactly the way to stop this from happening again. Once you control the file yourself you don't have to worry about what someone else decides is worth keeping.
