Got banned from a Facebook group in Tulsa for 72 hours after posting a city council video
Back in March I shared a clip from a Tulsa city council meeting in a local neighborhood group, and a mod took it down in 40 minutes and muted me for 3 days with no real reason given. The wild part is the video was public, the meeting was open to anyone, and all I wrote was 'here's what they said about the rezoning' with no opinion attached. So my question is, how do you all figure out if a mod is just following a rule or straight up killing a topic they don't like?
This happens in hobby groups all the time too, not just city stuff. I was in a local gardening group where someone posted about a plant swap and a mod deleted it because it "wasn't approved" even though the rules said nothing about that. Turns out the mod just didn't like the person, and a few of us figured it out by checking if other people posted the same type of thing and got left alone. That's usually your clue, when the rule gets applied to one person but not others for no clear reason. If the mod can't point to an actual written rule, they're probably just shutting down a topic they don't want around.
