Got my entire account nuked for a joke about a city council meeting
Honestly, it was on Nextdoor, of all places. I made a lighthearted comment about the mayor's new traffic plan and woke up to a permanent ban for 'inciting unrest'. Ngl, it makes you think twice before posting anything even slightly critical now. Anyone else had a local community app go full police state on them?

Sounds like a wild overreaction by the mods. My local group is pretty chill, they mostly just delete spam. Maybe it depends on who's running the page.

Yeah, the "depends on who's running the page" part is so true. My local group has this one mod who seems to live for the power trip. I got a week-long ban once for asking if anyone else's dog hated the mailman. Guess that was too political for them. I probably deserved it for rocking the boat. Makes you wonder what they're like in real life, right?
