Just realized my old blog from 2018 is completely gone now.

I used to write about local politics in my small town in Ohio. Three years ago, the whole site got taken down by the host with no real reason given. Last week, I tried to find it on the Wayback Machine and even those pages are gone. It's like my whole record of that time just vanished. Has anyone else had an old personal site wiped like that?

My 2015 music blog on Blogspot got nuked when Google changed their rules. I had over 300 posts, just gone. Now I keep a local folder with all my posts saved as text files AND I pay for my own domain. It costs like 15 bucks a year but it means I control it. Never trusting a free host again.

Did your friend @the_ruby ever figure out a way to get any of those music posts back? I had a pal from college who ran a little poetry blog on a free platform back in 2017 and it just disappeared one morning with no warning. She had backups of the text but lost all the comments and the way the posts were formatted with her pictures. It really bummed her out because she said it felt like a whole part of her life got erased without her permission.
