Local radio station cut my interview but kept the ads

I spent two weeks setting up an interview with a city council member about a new zoning law that would let developers build right next to the river here in Portland. The station ran a 10 second promo for it all week. Then the day it aired, they cut the whole segment but kept a 3 minute ad from a construction company. I called the producer and he said it was 'a scheduling issue.' I don't buy that. Has anyone else had a media outlet ghost a story that went against local business interests?
