My church newsletter got edited without telling me, I found out 2 weeks later

I volunteer editing our small church's weekly newsletter in Columbus, and last month I noticed the pastor's section about a controversial city zoning vote just vanished before printing. When I asked the office manager about it, she said the pastor himself asked her to cut it because some board members complained about 'stirring up politics' during service. Has anyone else had their work quietly altered by a higher-up and only found out after it was already public?
