Took me 9 weeks and 3 appeals to get my comment about a city council vote put back up
So back in April I commented on a local news page about a city council vote on a noise law in my town. Nothing wild, I just said the vote was rushed and linked the meeting minutes. My comment vanished in like 10 minutes. I figured it was a glitch, posted again, gone again. Then I got a notice saying I broke a rule about 'coordinated behavior.' I asked which rule and what behavior, and their support just kept sending me the same copy pasted message for weeks. I sent 3 appeals with screenshots, timestamps, the meeting link, all of it. Took 9 weeks almost to the day before a real person emailed me back and put the comment up. By then the vote was long over and nobody was reading that page anymore. So the comment is restored but it's basically a ghost now. Has anyone else had a platform make you wait out the whole news cycle before they admit they got it wrong?
Nine weeks of appeals to get a comment back up, that's not moderation, that's a hostage situation with extra steps. And of course they waited until the vote was done and the page was a graveyard, so putting it back was basically theater. The "coordinated behavior" flag is my favorite part, by the way, since apparently one person linking public meeting minutes counts as a conspiracy now (must be a pretty big operation, you and your one comment). I once got a photo of a pothole taken down for "graphic content," so I guess we're all running shadow networks these days. Their whole game is wearing you down until you quit, and when you don't, they hand you a win that doesn't matter anymore.
