Dove a shallow intake in the Chicago River and found a brick wall nobody flagged
I was doing a quick inspection on a water intake last month near the Michigan Ave bridge, and about 12 feet down there's a stretch of brickwork that doesn't match the rest of the wall. It looked like part of an old foundation from before the river was reworked, still in decent shape. I took some photos and showed the client, who had no idea it was there. Anyone else run into old structures on jobs that weren't on the drawings?
