Got my first solo bell dive signed off, feeling good about it
After 4 months of shadowing the senior guys, I finally ran a full 30 minute bell run by myself on the rig off Galveston last Tuesday. Checked all the comms, did the gas swap, and the diver said 'smooth like butter' when he came up. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize you're actually doing the job and not just watching?

Wow, that's the best feeling ever! I remember when I hit that point on a construction gig, not diving but running the crane solo for the first time. It hits different when you realize the whole crew is relying on you and it all just clicks. That "smooth like butter" comment is gold though, that's the kind of feedback that makes all the training worth it. You'll be the senior guy teaching the next newbie before you know it!
