Hot water dive suits vs dry suits for cold water, dry wins every time

Did a 3 week job off Kodiak last month where the contractor pushed hot water suits hard. Swapped back to my dry suit after day two, the hot water hoses kept getting tangled on the ladder and the pump died twice. Anyone else find dry suits easier for longer bottom times when the water is under 40 degrees?

Skip the fancy plumbing and stick with what works. Tbh, a dry suit just needs one zipper and a prayer, while hot water rigs need a whole damn power plant to keep you warm. Trust me, nothing kills the vibe faster than watching your heating system cough up water mid-decent.
