Just logged my 500th hour on the bottom saw and it felt like a real shift
I was doing a salvage job off the Florida Keys last Tuesday, cutting through some old steel, and my dive computer ticked over to 500 total hours on the saw. It hit me that I've spent more time with that tool than my own car. Has anyone else had a random gear milestone that made you stop and think?

500 hours on a bottom saw is just a crazy number to think about. I mean, that's like watching the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy over a hundred times, but underwater with a power tool. I can't even imagine the kind of focus that takes, or how many batteries you must have gone through. That's a real relationship with a piece of gear right there.

Sounds like a good way to get really tired of Lord of the Rings.

Respectfully disagree with @leo_kelly on the Lord of the Rings comparison. I've had my saw for six years and it's not about killing time, it's about knowing a tool so well it becomes an extension of your arm. That 500 hour mark is just the moment you stop thinking about every cut and start feeling it.
