My boat chili finally passed the crew's taste test

Working offshore, we often miss hot meals during long dive windows. I've been messing with a chili recipe that can simmer on the boat's stove without much fuss. Last job, I added extra beans and kept the spice mild so it wouldn't upset stomachs after deep dives. The whole team had two bowls each during our break, which never happens. It's just chili, but seeing everyone warm up and relax felt like a real win. Now they're asking me to make it for the next project. Guess I'll be packing more canned tomatoes from here on out.

Nice!! Getting a whole crew to agree on food is huge, lol. I messed with my own chili forever before it clicked. Swapping half the ground beef for sausage made a big difference, and letting it sit overnight always helps. That feeling when everyone goes for seconds is the best.

Wow @bell.lily, I guess patience really is a virtue when your chili needs to marinate overnight.

Scared my last crew off with undercooked beans once.
