My buddy in Galveston said 'a good tender is worth more than a perfect dive plan' and it stuck with me.
He argued that surface support is the real key to safety, not just the diver's skill. Has anyone else had a job where the tender made or broke the whole operation?

Yeah, that's a solid point. A bad tender can turn a simple job into a real mess, no matter how good you are at your part.

Turn a simple job into a real mess" feels a bit too easy. A great team can work around a bad tender, they just have to be good at solving problems on the fly. It's more about adapting than just being dragged down.

Used to believe the best crew could fix any bad setup. Saw a job last year where the tender was a total mess, wrong parts, bad schedule, the whole thing. Even the best guys on site were stuck waiting and fixing problems they didn't cause. Really showed me how one weak link can drag everyone down.
