Near miss on the M1 job, air hose caught a piling edge
Working off Port Angeles on a jetty repair last week, I was about 40 feet down when my main air hose snagged on a sharp barnacle-encrusted steel piling. It didn't rupture, but the friction wore through the outer layer before I noticed the pressure drop on my gauge. I signaled topside to stop all movement and swam hand over hand to clear it, took maybe 3 minutes but felt like 15. Had that flex hose gone fully, I'd have been swimming a free ascent in zero vis at slack tide. Anyone else had a line or hose catch on underwater structure and what do you rig to stop it from chafing?
