Rant: I saw a diver in Pensacola skip the pre-dive tool check and it cost him half a day.
He had to surface twice because his wrench didn't fit the bolts on the rig, which is basic stuff. How do you guys organize your gear to avoid simple mistakes like that?

That reminds me of a guy who showed up to a boat dive with his fins still in the truck. Gear checks are no joke.

Man, I read a dive forum post once where a guy packed his gear bag in the dark before a dawn charter. He grabbed an old, cracked o-ring instead of his fresh spares. Total vacuum failure at 60 feet, ruined the whole trip. That story made me triple-check my save-a-dive kit every single time now.
