Serious question, has anyone else compared a Kirby Morgan Superlite 17 to a standard hat for a long inspection dive in a current?
After a 4-hour job in the Cooper River last week, the Superlite's lower profile and weight distribution meant I was way less fatigued than my buddy in the old-style hat, so what's your go-to helmet for high-current work?

That Cooper River current is no joke. I've found the Superlite's chin bar design really cuts down on the water catching and trying to twist your head around.

So you've actually run the Cooper in the Superlite? How many times have you taken that boat down there, and did you notice if the reduced head pull made a real difference in your forward stroke timing?

Oh man, @miller.avery, that's a solid question. I've taken the Superlite down the Cooper maybe four times now? The first run was just getting used to it, but by the third time I really started to feel the difference. That lighter front end means I'm not fighting to keep my head up, so my stroke feels way more natural and less rushed. It's not a magic fix, but it definitely lets me focus on the line more than just staying upright.
