Warning: Skipping family events for last-minute dives hurts more than you think
I've seen too many divers ruin relationships (seriously, it's sad) because they prioritize unstable jobs over important moments. One buddy missed his kid's birthday for a salvage op that got postponed anyway. Set limits or you'll regret it.

Man, I felt this. I missed my sister's wedding for a "can't miss" job that got rained out. Now I block my calendar for big family stuff months ahead, no exceptions. The boat can find another diver for a weekend.
