Am I the only one who sees guys skipping the torque wrench on head bolts?
I was helping a buddy swap a head gasket on a 6.7 Cummins last week and he just cranked the bolts by feel. I told him that's how you get a warped deck or a leak three months later. Has anyone else run into this shortcut wrecking an otherwise solid job?

Three bolts into that job I realized why they sell those kits with new hardware included. Spent an extra hour driving to the parts store just to get ones that actually matched. The truck still reminds me of that mistake every time I hit a bump.
