Had to pick between a reman injector and a junkyard pull for my 6.0 last month
My '06 F-350 started missing bad on cylinder 4. I had $400 to spend. A reman was $450 from the local shop, but I found a used injector off a wrecked truck with 80k miles for $80. I gambled on the junkyard one cause I was broke. It's been 3 weeks and it's still running smooth, but I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. Anyone else taken that risk and regretted it?

Man I gotta say, you got lucky with that junkyard injector. But here's the thing - you didn't really have a reman option for $450 if that's the local shop's price. Most remans for 6.0 injectors are gonna run you closer to $300-350 a pop if you shop around online. That shop was marking it up hard. Not saying the junkyard pull was a bad call with your budget, but next time check some diesel parts sites before you commit.

Hold up there, that's not quite right on the pricing. I've been in the diesel game for a minute and 6.0 injectors have gone up lately. Most online diesel parts places are actually sitting around $380-420 for a decent reman right now, and the cheap ones at $300 are usually rebuilt with old parts and bad solenoids. You're not getting a proper reman with new nozzles and a test sheet for under $350 anymore, that's just 2024 pricing. That shop's $450 sounds high but it's not as crazy as you're making it out to be if they're using a good reman supplier.
