Honestly, that week in July where we had three trucks with the same injector cup leak was the worst

Everyone in the shop kept saying it was just bad luck, but I think there's a bigger issue. All three were from the same local fleet, all 2018-2020 model years, and they all came in within four days. The foreman wanted to just swap the cups and send them, but I pushed to check the coolant. Sure enough, the test strips showed the coolant was way out of spec, super acidic. I'm convinced their whole maintenance schedule is off and they're just cooking these engines. Boss said it wasn't our job to tell them how to run their fleet, but if they keep coming back for the same $2,500 repair, something's wrong. Has anyone else seen a run of cup failures that pointed back to a coolant problem, not just a parts flaw?

Spot on about the coolant. Seen it eat through good cups in no time.
