Learned a hard lesson about injector cup cleaning at a shop in Tulsa

I was working on a 2005 Cummins ISX at Wilson's Diesel in Tulsa and skipped the final solvent rinse on the injector cups. By the third start up the engine was knocking hard from diesel escaping past the o-rings. Has anyone else had injector cups cause a comeback after what seemed like a clean install?

Hate that feeling when you think it's clean and it still bites you. @charles_coleman makes a good point about how skipping one little step escalates everything, kind of like how life punishes shortcuts in general, not just on engines. Just shows you how one overlooked detail can wreck the whole plan.

Still find it wild how something as simple as missing a solvent rinse can turn into a whole rebuild situation. That diesel just finds its way out through any tiny gap and then it's all downhill from there.
