Ran a fleet of 6 trucks on used oil filters for 8 months straight

I started filtering and reusing my own oil filters after the shop I work at in Butte, Montana threw away about 30 filters a week. After 8 months, I cracked open one of the used filters and saw almost no metal debris compared to the first one I cut open. Has anyone else tried extending filter life with a bypass system or is that asking for trouble?

Whoa, I was totally against used oil filters before but this actually makes a lot of sense after reading your breakdown!

@harperwright So you're saying I've been throwing money in the trash all these years? Great. Just great. Now I gotta go dig through my garage bin.
