Shoutout to the old timer at the truck stop in Flagstaff who mentioned using ATF for stuck injectors
I was grabbing coffee at the Petro in Flagstaff and overheard a guy telling his buddy to soak a stuck injector in automatic transmission fluid overnight instead of diesel. He said the detergents in Dexron VI can break up carbon better. I tried it on a stubborn 6.7 Powerstroke injector last week and it actually worked after about 10 hours. Anyone else have a go-to soak for seized parts that isn't just the usual stuff?

Flagstaff must be the secret capital of weird fixes. That ATF trick sounds about as likely to work as @jana_hernandez's brake fluid cocktail, but I guess the proof is in the parts washer. My go-to is just a bucket of diesel and a lot of bad words.

Honestly, diesel and frustration is a solid combo. Got a frozen bolt loose once with a mix of acetone and ATF after nothing else worked. Sometimes the weird stuff just hits different.

My buddy freed a seized caliper slide with brake fluid and marvel fluid last month.
