Took 4 hours to find a bad ground on a 2015 Freightliner
Last week I had a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia come in with a no-crank issue. I spent the first 2 hours chasing relays and fuses, then another hour checking the starter. Turned out it was a corroded ground connection behind the battery box that looked fine from the top. I had to pull the whole tray and scrape off about a quarter inch of white crust. Anyone else spend way too long on a simple ground problem?

The guy at the parts counter was telling me about a similar Cascadia that had them chasing a ground for almost a full day. He said they finally found it under the battery box too, all crusted up like you described. Corrosion hides in the weirdest spots on those trucks.

Oh man, I gotta disagree a little bit there. I mean yeah corrosion is a pain but I feel like half the time people just look at the obvious spots and give up too fast. Under the battery box is kinda the first place I'd check on a Cascadia honestly, not some hidden secret spot. It's not that weird when you think about how much water and junk gets kicked up from the road right there.
