Tried to save time by skipping the fuel system bleed on a diesel job - the mess taught me a lesson real quick

Yeah that's a rough one. Did the same thing years ago trying to get a tractor back together before dark. Got diesel sprayed all over the engine bay, and the smell hung around for weeks. It never actually saves time because you end up cleaning up the mess and doing the bleed procedure anyway, just now you're angry and covered in fuel. Some shortcuts just cost you more.

Ever think about what that spilled fuel does to other parts under the hood? Beyond the smell and mess, raw diesel can wreck rubber hoses and seals over time. It also washes away lubricants from belts and pulleys. That quick skip might lead to a dried out, squealing serpentine belt or a seeping hose a month later.

Ugh been there. That extra hour cleaning everything up is the worst, and the smell gets in your clothes. Honestly just do the bleed right the first time.
