Vent: Called BS on using synthetic oil in my old 7.3 until I cracked open the valve cover at 280k
After 180,000 miles of Rotella conventional I finally switched to synthetic last year and when I pulled the cover last month there was ZERO sludge compared to my buddy's truck with the same miles on dino oil, has anyone else seen that big a difference switching late in an engine's life?

Yeah @evan_stone I was the same way. Thought synthetic was just a gimmick for new trucks. But seeing that valve cover changed my mind completely. No more conventional for anything I own now.
