Got a parking ticket downtown for $75 that I was sure was bogus
I was parked on 104 Street for barely 5 minutes in a loading zone with my hazards on, and the bylaw officer didn't care at all. I fought it with a photo I took of the missing sign and got the fine cancelled after 2 weeks of paperwork, anyone else had luck disputing parking tickets in Edmonton?

Bylaw officers love easy tickets. Loading zones with hazards on are their bread and butter. But if you've got proof the signage is missing, 9 times out of 10 they'll cave, they just count on people not bothering.

Wait, you actually took a photo of the missing sign and they just accepted it? That's wild. In my experience, you practically need a sworn affidavit and a video of the bylaw officer admitting they made a mistake to even get a response from them. I had a ticket downtown for parking in a spot that clearly had the pay station broken, and they still made me jump through hoops for two months before finally knocking it off. Good on you for being that prepared with the photo, most people just toss the ticket and move on.
