Heard a neighbor in Mill Woods mention they got their full damage deposit back after a move-out inspection by taking pictures of everything with a date stamp.
It made me think that a simple, free step like that could save a huge headache and maybe even a trip to the landlord-tenant board over a few hundred dollars.

That's such a solid move. It feels like a lot of problems come from people just taking someone's word for things. Getting proof before there's even a fight just makes sense. Why do we always think to do this stuff after the fact, when we're already mad? Makes you wonder what other simple proof could stop everyday arguments.
