Neighbor's fence is 2 feet over my property line - any advice?

I measured my lot last week and found my neighbor's chain link fence is about 2 feet onto my side. The guy who lived there before me apparently agreed to it, but I never signed anything. Has anyone in Edmonton dealt with a property line dispute like this before?

2 feet over is significant for Edmonton property lines.

My buddy Joe had the exact same thing happen with his neighbor in Mill Woods last year. He ended up having to pay a surveyor 500 bucks to come out and officially mark the line before the city would even listen to him.

And a surveyor is the only way to go for that too, the city won't budge on anything without official stamped documents. It's a lot of cash upfront but way less stressful than fighting with a neighbor over a couple feet for years.
