I spent $2,500 on a fancy CRM before I even had 10 customers

It was way too complex and slowed me down for months. What's a simpler tool you'd suggest for a service business just starting out?

Ouch, that's a tough lesson to learn early on. What specific parts of the CRM felt too complex for you? Was it the contact management, the follow-up reminders, or trying to build out custom sales pipelines before you even had a clear process?

Yeah the custom pipelines part for sure. We tried to build out all these stages before we even knew what our sales cycle looked like. Total waste of time.

Man, the custom pipelines thing got me too. We spent weeks mapping out stages like "initial discovery" and "proposal sent" when half our deals were just people emailing us asking for a price. Should have just started with a simple lead or not lead system.
